Maternity Nurses

Maternity nurse posts are available to those with a professional qualification or considerable newborn experience. Maternity nurses are all very experienced and know all there is to know about new babies. They can be booked for any length of time (we recommend 4-6 weeks) and will help feed and care for your baby, and, best of all, take over completely when you need a rest.

Maternity Nurses are expected to undertake responsibility for the care of the baby and mother and the duties include:

• Preparing all milk feeds and sterilising equipment
• Feeding the baby day and night
• Advising on breast feeding as necessary
• Washing and ironing all of baby's clothes cot linen etc.
• Bathing and changing the baby as required.
• Daily tidying all nursery area

Time off is a minimum of 24hrs within any 7-day period, although positions can be for just days or just nights. As a general rule positions are booked approx. 5 -6 months in advance, however we are used to handling emergency bookings.

Salary is dependant on hours worked and whether the position is with a single baby or with multiples.
